Total affiliate type revenue for January was $4,883.78 ($157.54 a day). That’s broken my 6 months in a row increasing revenue streak It’s down about $140 compared to December, but still $80 more than the month before that.

You can see from the numbers below everything is similar to the previous month except Clickbank which is down about $130. At the beginning of January I had a lot of no sales days: only ONE sale in the first 10 days of the month!!!

Just a bad month for Clickbank!

As always this revenue does not include the money I make through my SEO business, themes sold at SEO/AdSense Themes or any investments, so ONLY affiliate and advertising (AdSense type programs) revenue.

I wrote a recent comment on my SEO/AdSense Ready WordPress Themes site in response to a commenter saying my AdSense income is a lot of money to someone living in India.

If you read my comment you’ll probably pick up I’ve recently had my eyes opened to how hard it must be for people living in places like India to afford my SEO WordPress AdSense themes: I sell them for only £10 (under $20) each which is cheap for someone looking to make money in the UK/USA (if you can’t make the £10 back online in a month you aren’t cut out to make money online).

I’ve never seen myself as an entrepreneur even though I obviously am an entrepreneur. Was thinking back on my life and it’s surprising how long it took to start my first real business (~28 years old).

My business and work history

My elder brother at school age worked on a milk round and sold scratch lottery type tickets door to door. At around the age of 13-14 I also sold the scratch lottery tickets door to door and would make a few quid a week. Interesting fact: I realised the winning lottery tickets had print errors (the winners had all been printed on the same machines ) and I could pick out all the £1 and £5 winners out of the packs I sold!

As an online business owner I’ve been hit by the recession, fortunately I’m in a niche business (search engine optimization services) where I’ve been turning potential clients away for years: I don’t run an online SEO business just to make money, I want to enjoy what I do so I’ve been very picky with which businesses I take on as clients and I’m very good at what I do, so there’s always been more potential SEO clients than I can cope with.

As my regular readers know I own a number of websites including one on the 2010 UK General Election where supporters of a fringe right-wing political party, The British National Party (BNP) are consistently arguing ALL immigration is bad for Britain (they want to close our borders and pay legal immigrants to leave!).

Total affiliate type revenue for December was $5,022.81 ($162.03 a day). That’s up 6 months in a row, just under $200 more than November and my 2nd best month so far since making these reports.

Well it was 3:30am in the morning and I’m just about to shut my PC down for the night and go to bed, when I get the following virus warning from Avast:

As soon as I realised it was SpyBot Search & Destroy I almost crapped my pants in panic! If that’s infected it must be a really BAD virus infection!!

Avast wouldn’t delete the file because it’s running and after scanning the Spybot – Search & Destroy folder with Avast I got multiple warnings of the same Win32:Delf-MZG [Trj] trojan virus infection!

By now I’d already disconnected the PC from the Internet and was quickly closing all programs down including Spybot – Search & Destroy.

Total affiliate type revenue for November was $4,807.53 ($160.25 a day). That’s up 5 months in a row, about $300 more than last month and my 3rd best month so far since making these reports. My best month was over $5,800+ when I had a REALLY good Clickbank sales month, (coincidentally this month last year) Clickbank sales are REALLY low this month ($200) if I can pull those back up, I might break new ground in the future.

Private sales are up again, less than $100 extra this month, but still up and nice to see it break the $3,000 mark for the first time. Nice increase in AdSense revenue, first serious rise (over $300 increase) for a long time, with Christmas on the way we should see more increases.

Really late on Octobers revenue report, just didn’t feel like doing one. Will be doing the November report right after this one. Total affiliate type revenue for October was $4,506.82 ($145.38 a day). That’s up 4 months in a row, about $200 more than last month and my 4th best month so far since making these reports.

Clickbank sales are still low, have to admit I’ve not spent any time on Clickbank recently, but really should. Spending way too much time on UK General Election 2010 site which makes little revenue, but has generated almost 900 comments in about two months, most about a far right political party called the BNP who have no serious hopes of gaining political power!

Total affiliate type revenue for September was $4,289.05 ($142.97 a day). That’s up 3 months in a row, about $450 more than last month, but still way off the November 2008 peak of almost $6,000.

At the beginning of the month my Clickbank revenue was non existent, at one point I thought Clickbank might be broken or something as not had a sale for over a week!! Despite this I made more money this month than last from Clickbank, due to a nice rally in the final week which resulted in over half the months sales.
